slamstr: Revolutionizing the world of tennis with an innovative scoreboard

With our digital scoreboard, we want to usher in a new era in tennis scoring and benefit amateur, hobby and junior players in particular. Our innovative board, equipped with a touchscreen and SIM card, makes it possible to record scores in real time and call them up via our app or web app. There is already great interest from several countries. Find out more about our vision, development and future plans.

Our aim is to usher in a new era in the scoring of tennis matches. The main focus is on amateur, hobby and junior players. In this article, we would like to tell you more about our vision, the development of our innovative scoring board and our plans for the future.

A vision becomes reality

Our co-founder Fabian Henger has been a passionate tennis player for over 20 years. Together with Armin Zangerl and Simon Kneringer, he has dedicated himself to the vision of providing the entire sport of tennis with a live scoring function. The idea came from his own needs and his passion for sport. While the scores of professional matches are often recorded by third parties, there is a big gap for amateur and hobby players, as well as juniors. We at slamstr have set ourselves the goal of closing this gap in order to create real added value for players and clubs.

Development and innovation

The development of our scoreboard (called the slamstr board) has taken a lot of time and energy. The most recent prototype was assembled in our office. Our dedicated team is constantly working to further improve the Tafel. A bonding robot ensures that the weatherproof aluminum and Plexiglas panels can withstand the harsh conditions on site. The battery and charging options via the USB-C port guarantee a long service life with minimal maintenance. The LCD board is equipped with a touchscreen and a SIM card and sends the match data collected to our platform in real time. With the slamstr app or web app, users can call up the scores at any time. With this solution, we are creating a new era of points collection.

Market interest and future prospects

There are already inquiries from Germany, Hungary and even Australia. Our system is designed to support not only tennis players and their fans and families, but also tournament directors. The board makes the communication and planning behind every tennis tournament much easier. In addition, we are already thinking beyond the EUR 499.00 anti-theft board: our medium-term goal is to build a tennis community with the help of our innovative solutions. On the one hand to expand our user base, and on the other to offer players and clubs even greater added value. Once this has been achieved, many other possibilities would open up.

Final thoughts

We are driven by the idea of making the sport more accessible and exciting. With the slamstr board, we hope to offer tennis fans around the world a new dimension of playing experience. We are excited about the challenges ahead and look forward to the rest of the journey.
