Why do I get the error message “We do not have permission to use your camera” when I try to scan the QR code?

Our webapp/app asks you for explicit permission to receive data from your device’s camera, which is indicated by a pop-up in the browser. If you receive this error message when trying to scan a QR code, it means that your browser has prevented our webapp/app from accessing your camera.

This may be due to the following reasons:

  • you may have accidentally clicked on the “Decline” button when the pop-up window for camera permission was displayed
  • your browser may have automatically blocked the camera or
  • you may have installed an app or browser extension that automatically blocks camera access

For Android:
When using the camera function e.g. After scanning the QR code, you will be asked to allow go.slamstr.com to access the device’s camera. In this case, simply click on “Allow” and you can scan the QR code.
If you do not receive a prompt, close the browser window with go.slamstr.com or the installed web app and open it again.

For iOS:
